Hinkle Creek Friends Church is a member of Indiana Yearly Meeting, Society of Friends (Quaker). We follow a programmed style worship service. All are welcomed to attend Sunday School and Sunday morning worship service. Our service times are as follows: Adult School at 9:30 a.m., then Announcements at 10:20 with Worship at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, August 4, 2019 after the worship service we will serve a lunch of sandwiches, salads, & desserts to celebrate Edie Keesee-Henry’s recording as a Friends minister. Please join us for a good fellowship time together.
Congratulations to Edie Keesee-Henry who was recorded as a Friends Minister recently. We will celebrate her recording on Sunday, August 4, 2019 after the worship service. Please join us for this celebration.
Our monthly Fellowship Breakfast is this Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Monthly Meeting for Business will be held after the worship service. Everyone is invited to attend.
While at Hinkle today snapping photos to send to the Yearly Meeting for a project they are doing I came across this one in our museum. It is Pearl Cook standing with her Sunday School class sometime in the 1910’s. Notice we did not yet have the stained glass windows? I knew Pearl...her husband had been a pastor at Hinkle and performed the marriage of my parents! (Wow, I am OLD!😊)

Blessed Easter greetings! We at Hinkle had a wonderful service celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. I know time marches on and traditions change but I thought I would share a memory from my childhood at Hinkle. The church ladies gathered on the Saturday before Easter to prepare for the breakfast that would follow the sunrise service. The folks in the choir had been practicing for weeks under the leadership of Lyndon Beals. After the service where we lit candles, etc. we would go to the basement for a BIG breakfast. The scrambled egg recipe follows...one recipe feeds 50 people according to the head cook Mae Carson 1 & 1/2 pounds of butter 6 dozen eggs 4 & 1/2 cups of milk 2 Tablespoons salt, pepper if desired Preheat roaster to 400 degrees with lid on, then put in small pieces of cut up butter. When melted pour in eggs lightly beaten with milk. Make sure each yolk is. Rosen, add salt and stir occasionally. Cooks in 25 or 30 minutes. Then reset control to 150 degrees until serving time. SO....back in the 1950-60's this was a yearly tradition. Wonderful memory, but do NOT put me in charge of reviving this tradition. LOL.

Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019....please remember that we will again be having a floral display for those who wish to honor their departed loved ones. Bring your flowers along with a card stating who you are remembering plus your name. We will read the cards during the service. Please remember to take your flowers home after the service.
Easter is such a wonderful time of celebration as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. Remember to join us for our Easter Experience on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Snacks will be served downstairs afterward.

Hinkle will continue the tradition of remembering our loved ones with memorial flowers on Easter. Bring your flowers along with a card stating who you are honoring with your flowers and who they are from. We will read your card during our Easter worship service.
Do not forget the Fellowship breakfast on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. We will have our Monthly Meeting downstairs following the worship service. Everyone is invited!

Bible Study Groups update: both groups will now meet bi-weekly. The Wednesday evening group will next meet on Feb. 20, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.. The Monday morning Ladies Bible Study will next meet at 9:00 a.m. on Feb. 25, 2019. Everyone is welcome to join us for either or both. We’d love to see you there.

The scheduled performance of the gospel quartet "Blessed Truth" has been postponed. We will let everyone know when they will be coming.
The Ladies Bible Study will resume on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Hope you will be able to join us.
